The boards provide an introduction to the large public exhibition mounted by the North East Region of the Art Advisers Association. It was intended that the exhibition could stimulate wider interest in children's drawings and its value in education. First exhibited by Bradford Art Galleries & Museums, 1978.

Introduces the idea of 'schema'; the use of simple shapes and arrangements of shapes and marks. These 'stand for' a child's experience of real things.
